Using Humidity to Create Net Zero Energy Buildings

The EU-funded SSHARE project basic concept is that an envelope can heat or cool the building, depending on the time of year using only atmospheric humidity as both a thermal and electric energy supply. They achieved proof of concept through a project called HUNTER that demonstrated how it can convert atmospheric humidity into electricity. The next step is a project called CATCHER, to look into how converting atmospheric humidity into electricity could be incorporated into the power grid.
